Releases

Packaging and distributing your music to platforms

Releases are the distribution artifacts you submit to platforms like SoundExchange, DistroKid, and streaming services. Unlike projects (which track production workflow), a release represents the final packaged product ready for distribution.

Releases link to your existing songs and recording versions rather than duplicating metadata. They only add distribution-specific information like UPC, territories, release date, and platform URLs.
