Media Library Images
Upload, validate, reuse, preview, download, and delete images for release artwork, playlist headers, and artist photos.
The media library is a centralized place to store images that you can reuse across Songkeeper. Use it when the same image may become release artwork, a playlist header, or an artist promo photo.
Image upload rules
| Rule | What Songkeeper accepts |
|---|---|
| Formats | JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF |
| Maximum size | 50 MB per image |
| Dimensions | 100px to 10,000px per side |
| Validation | Songkeeper checks the MIME type, file signature, and decoded image dimensions before confirming an upload. |
These rules apply to media library uploads. Other file upload surfaces may have their own validation depending on what the feature stores.
Uploading
Drag and drop images onto the media library page, or click to browse. Multiple files can be uploaded at once, with up to 3 active uploads at a time and progress shown for each file.
You can also upload directly from a picker when selecting images for other features. There's no need to visit the media library page first.
Where library images are used
| Feature | What the image becomes |
|---|---|
| Releases | Cover artwork for singles, EPs, albums, and compilations. |
| Playlists | Header images for playlist editor previews and shared listening pages. |
| Artists | Promo gallery photos that can also prefill playlist headers. |
Managing Images
The media library page is built for finding and cleaning up uploaded images, not for editing the places where those images are used.
- Preview an image before using or downloading it
- Bulk actions - Select multiple images to delete or download as a ZIP
- Loaded storage total - The grid shows the combined size of the images currently loaded in the view
