Playlists
Creating playlists to organize and share your music with others
Playlists let you collect audio tracks into shareable collections. Use them to send music to clients, pitch to labels, create listening sessions, or organize your catalog for any purpose.
Creating a Playlist
Create a playlist from the Playlists page with a title and optional description. You can also create one directly from a release, which pre-fills the tracks, artwork, and artist information.
Adding Tracks
Add any audio file from your songs and recording versions. Each playlist can hold up to 50 tracks and each file can only appear once.
For each track, you can customize:
- Display title — Override the track title shown to recipients
- Display artist — Override the artist name
- Title source — Show the song metadata title or the original filename
- Order — Drag to reorder tracks
Presentation
Playlists support rich presentation for when you share them:
- Header image — Set from the media library, an artist promo photo, or release artwork
- Rich description — Formatted text that appears on the shared page
- Video embed — A video URL displayed above or below the player
- Social links — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, and more
Sharing
Share a playlist with specific contacts to create a private listening page with its own URL. Each share can be configured with:
- Downloads — Allow or prevent recipients from downloading tracks
- Metadata visibility — Show or hide track metadata (genre, credits, BPM, key signature, etc.)
- Comments — Enable comments on the shared page, with optional authentication requirement
- Password protection — Require a password to access
- Expiration — Set an expiry date for the share link
- Authentication — Require recipients to log in to Songkeeper
Analytics
Shared playlists track listening activity so you can see how recipients engage with your music:
- Play counts per track
- Download counts
- Unique listeners
- Completion rates
